Pastor's flier used to 'incite tensions'
You never miss an opportunity to try to spread your (ir)religious beliefs. Why can't you bask in your religion-free zone without trying to drag the rest of us into it? This isn't about religion. It's about hateful people. MIFA is a counterexample of what you're trying to say. Ask the folks at MIFA - Christian, Jew, Muslim - how their religion divides them. .
Mansion 'mistake' piles the pressure on Barack Obama
I do think it is important to take a look at the backgrounds of presidential nominees, but when a story gets published, the words need to explain everything and be factually accurate, an article should not convey something to be a truth that it cannot prove. .
Liberals request RCMP probe into alleged bribe
If the conservatives are honest about this not happening then they should allow the investigation to clear their name. As stated about the supposed insurance policy is actually a bribe, straight and simple. It is a concept that is not really that hard to grasp now is it. How bad? Historically so!
Do you people even watch the games? We held a team averaging 75 a game to 51 AT THEIR PLACE. I realize this is all going to fall on deaf/ignorant ears, but I at least want to inform some of the people who don't watch the games how idiotic some of this stuff is getting. .
Jessica Simpson not exactly up on current events
Jessica Simpson co-hosted The View yesterday but didn't really talk much when it came to current events. She plugged her new fashion line then resorted to her trademark blank stare for the rest of the show, according to Page Six: "She was never intended to be on the show as a moderator," noted an insider who alerted Page Six to the episode. "It was all a big plug for her label - Jessica barely even talked to the guests." I think Jessica Simpson should've been allowed to talk to the guests. You know, just to see her head explode when one of them tried to explain what a newspaper is. “So, what do you mean?" she'd ask. “You, what's the word, read? You ‘read' the words and it puts ‘facts' in your head about what's happening in, what was it, the world? I don't feel so good." KERPLOW! If that ever happens, I hope her breasts survive.
Courtship Rituals of Cornellians: An Ethnography
There was, I imagine, a moment in history when courtship rituals among the young men and women far above Cayuga's waters were fairly homogenous. That moment having been summarily executed in a parking lot, our current dating repertoires are sorely in need of documentation. It was the practice of pre-1990s anthropologists to write ethnographies that trampled all hopes of agency and otherized with grace rarely seen in today's literature. It is my intent to follow in that tradition with this column. Hipsters — Although sometimes thought to be a twenty-first century construct, the Hipster genealogy is long, with Bob Dylan throwing the term around the East Village in 1959 and Billy Corgan beseeching Hipsters to unite in 1993's “Cherub Rock." Any such illustrious lineage must carry entrenched norms of courtship and reproduction.
Bali bomb hero sells medals to ease pain
BALI bombing courage will go on sale in Brisbane today with the auction of a Cross of Valour, Australia's highest peacetime award. It was awarded to Tim Britten, who acted heroically after the Sari Club attack in which 202 people, including 88 Australians, died in 2002. Constable Britten has put the medal up for sale because it brings back too many painful memories of the time he spent pulling a victim out of the wrecked nightclub. The policeman was on leave when he heard the bomb blast, ran to the site and, dressed only in a singlet top and shorts and wearing thongs, entered the burning building. He was forced back by flames but after a dousing with water returned with another person to rescue an injured woman. Constable Britten, from Western Australia, was burnt on the arms and bleeding from deep cuts to his feet, but spent the next hour carrying badly wounded from the street outside the club to waiting trucks.
Plans hinge on 'Millionaire'
Alexander and Bowker have been tuning in all week for the show's "Wedding Week" to see how other chosen couples have fared. "We're definitely nervous. When we watched the episodes this week, I was sweating. Even though you know it's going to happen, you just never know what you look like or what you said," Alexander said. "They call it a hot seat for a reason." The Yorkville couple recorded the game show every day and watched it "religiously" after work to prepare for the trivia game show, she said. Although she would not reveal details about the episodes, Alexander noted that host Vieira was "gorgeous, beautiful and so nice," and gave hugs to the couple when it was all over. The couple plans to wed July 12. They moved to Yorkville in April for job opportunities and a chance to own a home instead of renting in Chicago.
